One of our blogging buddies Beth has asked that we wave our flag to say thanks to those who have served us.
I will have my flag up and hope you will too. I have family in all branches of the military who have taken part in some way over the years. I also want to honor those who were lost on 9/11 and during the last ten years either during service, and other awful crimes. I also want to mention the London rail bombings and others around the globe who have been hurt in the name of hate. I wish you well too.
Come on in I saved you a table by the window with a really nice view! As a Titus woman I will be serving you today with ideas on a happy home full of all things surrounding a retro style wife and mother. A retro wife is one who loves to stay at home and take care of the kids, her husband and if you are lucky enough to have made it to the point I have… now grand children on the way! If this sounds like YOU… Welcome Home!

I am going to be a GRANDMA!! We are so excited for this next step in our lives.

Rainy Cold Derby Week
Today I asked my husband...When did we move to Seattle? It is so cold and rainy! Our high is in the 50's and tomorrow will only be a high of maybe 52!! I guess I do kinda go through this each Spring since we moved here. See in Texas we just have hot and hotter. A day like this would be one of our cold winter days. So, when winter is suppose to be over and the pretty flowers bloom and the trees are turning so many shades of bright green... I just long for the warm air too. I am ready for a warm day on a hammock with a nice book and my kitty. A gentle breeze, just enough to keep the sweat away.
The Kentucky Derby festivities have officially started. For those that do not live here, you may not know about all the fun that leads up to the actual Race Day. It all started off with Great Balloon Race on Saturday. This are so beautiful and come in all sizes, shapes and colors. after the balloons all land, that evening is celebrated with the "balloon glow". This is awesome!! here are some pictures from this race and the Balloon Glow.
There is also a marathon and a mini marathon that took place this weekend on Saturday. We all had a really good laugh at our pastor for sitting on a stool to deliver this Sunday's service after taking part in the mini marathon. Well props to him because I didn't even try it.
I hope everyone is having a great Monday!

B is for Bride
I wonder how many people will choose the same as I did for this letter B we have this week in Jenny Matlock's class. http://jennymatlock.blogspot.com/2011/04/alphabe-thursdays-letter-b.html
I decided to go with Bride, well no explanation needed really is there? We are on the eve of the big Royal Wedding!
Oh yes, I was one of those many that tuned in to see Lady Diana marry her Prince! I was in the middle of planning my very own wedding so I was all about weddings and wishing and pretending to be a Princess! Not only did I stay up all night to watch it on TV, a friend who had a VCR (some younger readers may need to look that one up) was so sweet to tape the whole thing for me! Now is where you will see how my obsession may had gone to far.... through all the years when we would go through out collection, that was on the no way do not toss it list. In 2008 when we made our move from Texas to Kentucky I finally gave it up the old VHS (that's the thing that you inside the VCR to see recorded moving picture's back in the day)
I was all about the dress. what will she wear. Oh my a princess I just can't imagine what a real live princess will wear. This is the first in my lifetime that I could remember a wedding with a real Princess!
She did not let us down now did she. I wanted a train that went all the way out the back of the church. He would have if she married at my little church.
Wow the wonderful Westminster what a beauty. Like so many things in Europe the history of the building are so gorgeous!
The beautiful matriarch of the family. the more we see of this lady the more we learn she really doesn't have such a stiff upper lip. She has a bit of a funny bone and I love when we see her get ticked at something. She became the mother in law to Diana, but she is the grandma to the boy who will be King. I think those boys have really got a hold of her heart just like any grandma across the world.
Home Sweet Home Not bad huh? Buckingham Palace. Did you know that when the Queen is "in state" or "at home" there is a flag flying. Notice in the picture there is not a flag on the pole on top in the center.... This means she was out of the country or staying at the Windsor Castle. Or I guess a number of other things. I not privy to her itinerary.
So it's time for the next Princess Bride to join the Windsor family. Fill your popcorn bowls and put on your fuzzy slippers - or - go all out and fix a spot of tea and put on your fancy hat. What ever way you choose to watch it will be fun to finally see all the flowers and what her dress will look like.
London is one of my all time favorite places around the world. Here is a shot of Big Ben in the snow. Just to right is the big Farris Wheel The London Eye. One thing I find really funny about London.....
~ Stay up with friends and watch it as a party or with your daughter or husband or other family
~ Most likely be the only one in the house awake
~ Probably wait and see on the TV in the morning it will still be all over TV anyway

This is painted on the street at crosswalks.
See, it's just for us silly Americans. We apparently drive on the wrong side of the road and tend to Look Left before stepping into the street for on coming cars. Well..... yes in London they would be coming from the right. ~ sigh

5 Things I am Thankful For Today
Taking a short break today to sit and be thankful.
1. Jesus who forgives me and loves me and has a beautiful home waiting for me where I will never again know pain or sorrow.
2. A gracious husband who has also had to forgive a great many times. He helps around the house so much and is my very best friend. He make me laugh several times everyday!
3. My wonderful children that have grown into the most amazing adults and for their spouses who love and care for them. This year I have decided I am sending the mothers of my in law kids a mothers day card to thank them for raising such a "wonderful kid"
4. Diet Coke as I could not start a single day with out it!
5. My kitty Bluebell who curls up with me and seems to know when I am having a bad day. She lays out side the door of the office when I ma in there (as "daddy" says no hairy cats in the office) just waiting for to come out. When I come home she is by the door waiting to say Welcome back.

Dear rain we have had enough thank you!
We had such a wonderful Easter day! The ham and all the trimmings were really yummy! We had way too much food and that means we ate way too much as well!
As our daughter in law was walking toward the chairs my daughter yelled "BABY BUMP - I SEE IT!!" Oh yes there sure was too! We are finally seeing real signs of that first grandbaby. I think for mothers day I am going to buy her a couple of maternity tops.
We have been being pounded with rain and flooding is starting to be a problem. Today some school closings due to so many road closing. There had been a few nights last week with tornado sirens going off which makes my hubby mad to wake up to at night. He says "Why do they wake me up to say stay in doors I am asleep, I'm already in and at a safe place?" Silly man, so you can move down to the basement!! We have thunderstorms for the next few days still to come and the river is already out of it's banks and at 33 ft its highest in 14 years. There are home with water up to the roof tops. it's really sad for those people.

Funny Little Car
I saw this little car and thought, I simple must have it. Why? Why, for the same mind set that a man must have a car because it looks fast or has a racing strip on it. I as a woman think it's cute and so I want it just for that reason and that is reason enough.
Seriously, how adorable is this thing? besides the fact that with the first speed bump you hit you would be rolling your way the rest of the way home! I have no idea if there is any room to carry much home from the grocery story or any other shopping. It just darn cute that's all. Cute as a bugs ear!

sweet sweet bloggy friends
I have read all your comment and I have not had time to get back to you. Please know you mean so much to me and I do love that you visit and comment on what you read here. I have been in a lot of pain and have had to go "out in the field" of working as we lost a couple of employees due to illness and moving. So I do check in, but doing what I am use to on here. Hope to be back soon!

Thunder!
Busy, busy, busy. So much to do. I have been getting a lot done and have a full schedule for the next few weeks. My blog may not be updated every day like I usually do. This is a good this since this has to do with our business getting busy and I am needed to help in the office more and to go out and do more with giving client estimates.
Today Jenny told us to re-use any letter in the alphabet for our Alphabet Thursday blog post. I'm going with the letter T is for Thunder.
We have sure had our share of Thunderstorms. I love to curl up with a blanket and a movie and listen to the rain and thunder! To me it's good sleeping weather, but husband says it keeps waking him and I'm a bit nuts. Yeah, I can see that. There has been a little flooding but not too bad mostly just road ways that have become flooded and cars should not cross.
I'm very excited for Thunder over Louisville this weekend I will post on that tomorrow!!

A Grateful Heart
I have to stop and take a minute to say a word of thanks to my wonderful Father in heaven who has taken such good care of me and my family.
See we moved from Texas to Louisville Ky. to rehab homes then rent them and have the money go to mission work we had on our hearts. Our mission was to build schools and orphanages and teach them to be self reliant by selling and eating their own crops and making and selling crafts and goods. When we started building these homes the contractor we went with is a pastor and his friend. They ended up being nothing more than scam artist. This breaks my heart as he is a practicing pastor and is what people see as a man of God.
Well, we ended up after having a nice savings and no debt to now being bankrupt and we don’t know when we will be told to move from our home. In the middle of all that my husband was laid off from a very nice job he had for many many years with a comfortable income. Every time he has interviewed he has been told he is over qualified for the job.
Ok so here is my praise and gratitude. It’s April, it’s been two years since we have had any income. We don’t have any savings because of the bankruptcy we just don’t have anything left right? Wrong we have Jesus! He has not left us, because on paper we should not be able to be making it. If you look at all the things we are able to do and the fact that we eat, use heat in our home and are able to keep gas in the car, all these things just don’t add up. But my gracious Lord can provide and He does.
So today, Gratituesday I thank you dear Lord for all you provide for me.

BOY? GIRL?
I bought some really cute onsies for the baby Saturday! One says "I'm New Around Here" Ha, love it. I also bought socks. Lets see if I picked the right kind....
Sunday we had a wonderful time having everyone over. I cooked a huge meal and we ate until we could no more! I was hoping Kevin and Lauren would have news for us. BOY? GIRL? BOY? GIRL? I am just about to bust!!! Lauren had been to the Dr. but the did not have another ultra sound yet. : ( boooo. Her tummy is starting to form. Bless her heart she still gets sick at different times through out the day. I think she may be one who has to deal with this the whole 9 month. Ug!
Well here we go it's another week. To start it off I am once again linking up with "Meet Me On Monday" Clink the Picture and meet some more lovely ladies!
1.Who would be your dream celebrity date?
Well, I actually went to google and looked up “romantic leading men” looked around I could just pick one just because. But I really don’t have one. If the question was what Famous person would you like to have lunch with. Well then I could come up with names. Anna Eleanor Roosevelt what an amazing strong women with just the best quotes! Grace Kelly Now there is a great story love to hear about it first hand over lunch wouldn’t you? Anyway, I love my husband and I guess that may be corny, but I just don’t see myself with anyone else. NOT that I don’t see a movie and think, whew, now he is a nice looking man. I just can’t remember any that I would think I would like a date with.
2. Do you have any food restrictions?
Yes I am a Celiac So I am very restricted. No gluten in any form what so ever!! No processed foods. I cook everything from scratch and we don’t go out very often because I tend to get sick even when I order from a GF menu.

3. How much time do you take to get ready in the morning?
Well, I don’t have anywhere to get to in the morning so as soon as I step out of bed…. I’m ready depending on what I want to do. I have the luxury of staying in the PJ’s if I don’t feel very well. So as soon as the teeth are brushed humm 5 min.! But If I were to be going out, I’m not to fussy I do put on a face but it doesn’t take me long. I can go from shower to in the car in an hour.

5. Do you Google, Bing or Yahoo?
Google and Yahoo usually find what I need on either of them. But I like Google maps much better!
Thank you for coming by.
Have a Blessed week!

I Love the way Kids think
A father was approached by his small son, who told him proudly, "I know what the Bible means!" His father smiled and replied, "What do you mean, you 'know' what the Bible means?" The son replied, "I do know!"
"Okay," said his father. "So, son, what does the Bible mean?"
"That's easy, Daddy. It stands for
'Believers Instructions Before Leaving Earth.'"
I hope you are enjoying your weekend. What ever you do make time to thank God for He has given to you and be sure to do at least one kind thing for someone!
Thank you for stopping by my blog. My goal is to create a spot that is interesting, fun, sometimes informative, and most of encouraging.

Egg Holders and Poached eggs
For some reason I have always liked egg cups. Eggs cups are these sweet little holders for eggs. usually for used to hold a 3 minute egg eaten at breakfast. I have no idea why I had ever taken to them like I did. We never had them growing up in my home or any of my family members that I ever new of. Maybe I thought they were something fancy like a princess would have so I thought they would be so delicate and fun to have every morning! Well, now I look at eating that egg and wonder how do you not end up with shell in the egg and eat that too? But I still love the little cups and there are so many of them out there. I do own a couple, but these photos are from a google search and it was very hard to choose which to pick for my post.
I thought this one was so delicate and pretty
This little van must have been a lot of fun and a way to get some kids to eat their morning eggs!
Really love this green one. It has bunnies on it, but I think it would make really nice any day table scape.
If you haven't started the giggles at the first sight of this one then we need to work on a few things. I thought these were just adorable!!
Um, Really, I don't think I could eat with the chicken foot! I'm not usually a squeamish kinda gal, but....
Now, this is ow we always made our poached eggs as i was growing up and it's the way I still like em today! Yum-E-O!
And now sweet and simple. I hope you are getting everything out and put up looking cute for Easter.
