This is Me

I'm a displaced South/Central Texan living in Louisville Kentucky
I am a princess because I am a child of the Risen King! My background is Baptist, but believe I have a relationship not a religion. I married my childhood sweetheart and together we have raised two wonderful children and got them married off. I love everything about being a wife and mother. Now guess what? I am going to be a GRANDMA!! We are so excited for this next step in our lives.

Praying With Our Presidents

If you are lucky enough to have the day off I hope you are also lucky enough to have great weather to enjoy getting out!  This is a day we all look for great sales, on sheets and towels oddly enough.

Remember to take time to pray for our president. Like him or not, he is in the seat and needs our prayers. All our leaders need prayer and encouragement.

As our presidents have taken office on his inauguration day here are some of the prayers spoken from a few of our great leaders.

“Give me grace to hear You calling on me in Your Word, that it may be wisdom, righteousness, reconciliation and the peace to the saving of the soul in the day of the Lord Jesus Christ.” – George Washington, 1st President of the United States – 1789-1797

“I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given to man. All the good from the Savior of the world is communicated to us through this book.” – Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States – 1861-1865.

“I humbly pray, Almighty God, in the words of King Solomon: ‘Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad, for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?’ I ask only to be a good and faithful servant of my Lord and my people.” – Harry S. Truman, 33rd President of the United States – 1945-1953.

“We turn away from (God) too often in our day-to-day living. I wonder if He isn’t waiting for us to wake up.” – Ronald Reagan, 40th President of the United States – 1981-1989.

…And my first act as President is a prayer. Heavenly Father, we bow our heads and thank You for Your love. Accept our thanks for the peace that yields this day, and the shared faith that makes its continuance likely. Make us strong to do Your work, willing to heed and hear Your will, and write on our heart these words: ‘Use power to help people.’ For we are given power not to advance our purposes, nor to make a great show in the world, nor a name. There is but one just use of power, and it is to serve people. Help us to remember it, Lord. Amen.” – George H.W.Bush, 41st President of the United States – 1989-1993.

Thank you for a great post. You're right, we need to pray for our president. In praying for him, we are praying for our country.

The boys I watch had the day out of school and I took them to do some 'fun' things. Movie, out to eat, bookstore and on our way home we had VERY bad weather. I'm glad we made it home safely. Ice and snow again. We are ready for spring here in Indiana.

PS - I might have already told you this, but I live in Kokomo, about an hour North of Indianapolis. I think it would be fun to meet for coffee this summer, but I gotta make sure I'm not needed to work on our house. We are building it ourself and it is A LOT of work.
