This is Me

My photo
I'm a displaced South/Central Texan living in Louisville Kentucky
I am a princess because I am a child of the Risen King! My background is Baptist, but believe I have a relationship not a religion. I married my childhood sweetheart and together we have raised two wonderful children and got them married off. I love everything about being a wife and mother. Now guess what? I am going to be a GRANDMA!! We are so excited for this next step in our lives.

Rain Rain Go Away

It's been raining for a few days and we have more in the forcast until Tuesday. I guess that will be good for the plants and flowers. But it keeps it too cold. It's still in the 50's. I am really ready for August when we finally get some 80's around here. Wow what I would do for a beach right now!

Taken while we were in St. Thomas the "S" is messed up but it was warm and the sand felt soooo goooood!

Changing to Spring

Today I got the Spring/Summer décor out and put away Winter. I changed the curtains and bedding and now the house looks like Spring and I’m ready for Summer and warm weather. So, now let’s hope we get warm weather soon and no more snow. Last year some of you may recall we had snow on Easter Sunday. I have been told they have had snow on Kentucky Derby Day too – That’s in MAY!!

I wore myself out pretty good so for dinner Trent is simply going to help out with Grilled Cheese, Apple Sauce and Smoothies. I love to buy frozen fruit and put some in a blender with ice and wahla. Sometimes add fruit juice and or yogurt too.

Hope everyone is doing well.

They're out for blood

Today I will go back to the hospital to give them more blood. More? Do they really need more they take so much when you are in there to begin with. They need to run more test on why I am always in pain and why the colon is irritated and inflamed. Good news this last removal of polyps was not cancer.

I plan to take some pictures today of what is the beginning of Spring. So I will post that soon.

Mulch Dump

After the storm there were a lot of limbs and whole trees that came down and needed to be cleaned up. One day we had a tree service come to the door and ask if we wanted free mulch. So we of course said we could use some. We told him we just needed a little and he could put it on the drive way. We now have no idea how we are going to get rid of an entire dump truck size truck load of mulch. Kevin was here when we went out and saw they had come and he took a picture because he thought this was funny and wanted to share this amazing image with his friends. If you can picture a driveway and see one half of it covered and piled higher than a car. You got the image. This load we bigger than our PT Cruiser!

We had a few nice days in the 70's so we got some of the yard work done. We have covered all of our beds with at least 2 - 3 times as much as you would normally put and still have a pile the size of a small car.

Though we had a few days in the 70's we will go down to freezing tonight and will stay in the 50's for the high all week.

I promised a picture of Brandon’s find of an icecicle that was over 4 feet!!

Winter 2009

The snow is very pretty and we still get excited over having flurries. Our big snow this year made for some trouble as we had lots of ice as well. So though it's very pretty untill the trees start to break and the power goes out. We were without power for 4 days. That means we were some of the lucky ones many were out for weeks.

On my way to the Dr.'s office, I drive down this road. Sping and Fall along this road are just as breath taking.

In the Hood

Crosswalk downtown you can't really tell the length here. But even though they look long, can you believe these ice cycles are 12 - 18 inces long.

Thought this was funny. That is a cargo ship going down the river. "Do they need to ship snow to Ohio?"

Then the fun
became work for
too many people

The artsy side of Louisville

Louisville has proven to be a fun place to live.

Here are bike racks downtown
