This is Me

My photo
I'm a displaced South/Central Texan living in Louisville Kentucky
I am a princess because I am a child of the Risen King! My background is Baptist, but believe I have a relationship not a religion. I married my childhood sweetheart and together we have raised two wonderful children and got them married off. I love everything about being a wife and mother. Now guess what? I am going to be a GRANDMA!! We are so excited for this next step in our lives.

Beautiful Buttons

I love buttons. Not sure when it started or why. I have collected them for as far back as I can remember. I have 3 huge jars full of old buttons. Many of them go back as far as my great grandmother.

Today I am linking up with the ladies at White Wednesday and I thought about whit Buttons. So I went on a search.

Oh I just love it! Look at this little purse. You just can't get more cute than that.

Then I saw this tiny wreath. How cute would this be on a cabinet  knob in a bath? This is all I found of this picture I sure would like to know more about it and what they did use it for.

This necklaces is darling. I would wear that! A pair of jeans and sweet shirt this would just finish the outfit.
To close with I will show this little heart and dedicate it to everyone in Japan and for those who have loved ones over there. My cousin who is in the Navy,  has lived over there for several years. They have become accustomed to earthquakes on a daily basis. I can't even imagine that! We are able to talk by phone on Vonage and she is actually able to be on Facebook when power is on. They are near the nuclear areas and are really worried at this point. I know so may of you are praying and I thank you for that. I know God is in control. So please pray for peace and comfort for all the people.

I love buttons too and have been collecting them for a long time. I need to get some of them out and display them! Thanks for the reminder!

Also...thanks for commenting on my picture loading problem yesterday...I don't know what the uploading problem was but it seems Blogger is working well today. I appreciate your help!
Have a great day!

Bless and take care of your cousin in Japan. It's an awful thing that has happened over there.

I love your buttons. I inherited a sewing box from a friend whose aunt was a seamstress and there were some pretty amazing buttons in that box. I haven't had a chance to sort it all out yet.

I didn't care for the chicken wire in the back of my cabinets which was where I wanted to use it but I know it would be wonderful mounted behind a cut out cabinet door. :)

What great pictures ! I love to rummage through the button tin here !!!!

Thank you for praying for my son. We're in NJ. His story is on my blog, but a quick version:

When he and his twin were 15 they got the flu. Joshua got better and Jacob did not. The virus spread to his heart and destroyed it. He went into complete heart failure. When he crashed he had a stroke and was left disabled. He was given zero chance of survival. With lots of prayers and hard work he was able to receive a heart transplant four days after their 17th birthday. He is now 3 years 3 months post transplant and working very hard to regain his independence. I would be honored to have your prayers !!!!

I love buttons, too! I'm always hunting the thrift shops and antique stores to look for vintage buttons for my artwork. The button purse is really cool. I'm sorry to hear you have loved ones in Japan. They need our prayers and our compassion and help. It makes me so proud of our troops to see them working hard to help so many people they don't even know. So many countries are helping. It's times like these when we see the best in others. Have a great week! Terri
