This is Me

My photo
I'm a displaced South/Central Texan living in Louisville Kentucky
I am a princess because I am a child of the Risen King! My background is Baptist, but believe I have a relationship not a religion. I married my childhood sweetheart and together we have raised two wonderful children and got them married off. I love everything about being a wife and mother. Now guess what? I am going to be a GRANDMA!! We are so excited for this next step in our lives.

The Carousel

You know when you are near a carousel. The sound of a Wurlitzer band organ blast and leads you in. Keep looking, soon we will find the Pinks and Greens of the sign!

There it is!  Come on, let’s go for a ride. It’s Saturday, It’s Pink Saturday!  Pick your horse.  These wonderful creatures take you to far away places as you ride up and down on his glorious back. This beautiful horse has won first place, look at his pretty blue ribbon and his wonderful Derby like banner of roses in Pink  and Green leaves.

WOW!  Step up and look at the lights and spectacular paintings of Pinks and Greens on this ceiling.  Ohhh…. oooo Can you smell the Pink  cotton candy they are selling off to the left?

Hold on tight here we GOoooooo!!

Oh my goodness I think I lost my Pink  bow.... that's ok it really didn't go with my Green shirt anyway. Well it's time to head back to the house how about we stop by the "Red Box" (that's not to far from pink) and get the movie "Carousel."
Both our leading ladies dressed in Pink  for the occasion today - aren't they a couple of dolls? Somebody forgot to wear Green  though uuu-huhummm Mr. down there....

Carousel is a 1956 film adaptation of the 1945 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical of the same name which, in turn, was based on Ferenc Molnár's non-musical play Liliom. The 1956 Carousel film stars Gordon MacRae and Shirley Jones, and was directed by Henry King. Like the original stage production, the film contains what many critics consider some of Rodgers and Hammerstein's most beautiful songs, as well as what may be, along with the plots of Allegro and South Pacific, the most serious storyline found in their musicals.

Thanks for going with me to the Pink and Green Carousel. I hope you have a happy healthy  Pink Saturday

and..... ;'.,Happy St. Patrick's Day ,.';

My parents are from Logansport, IN and when I was a little girl we went back to Logan all the time. Every weekend. They have one of the best carousels there in the United States. They even have the rings that you lean over and grab, hoping to get the gold one for a free ride. They also have the best custard stand. Two years ago, I took the boys I watch, my sister and her daughter, my Mom, and my Sister-in-law went there. We met my two cousins there. The carousel wasn't open but we had hotdogs from the hot dog stand in the park where the carousel is located, then we all went for a custard. It's a tradition in our family. oooh I'm tearing up. You really have brought back some memories for me. I miss those days of my childhood. They were so perfect.

What a thrill to ride the Carousel! This brought back memories of riding the BIG One at DisneyLand when my son was the age my grandson is now...18 months!

I've seen the movie several times, and could watch it again! They just don't make em' like that anymore!

Thanks for the memories! Happy Pink Saturday and Saint Patricks Day!

I love carousels! I have been perusing your blog and I was a stay at home mom too! I loved taking care of my family and my home. I could have had a career but I wanted to be home more than anything else. I have no regrets; best thing I ever did and if I could, I would do it all over again! Happy Pink Saturday and I'm your newest follower! Enjoy your weekend.

Blessings,
Sandi

Loved your post showing today. When I was much younger, I loved riding the little horses on the carousels. That was one of my favorite things, and eating a candy apple. I am glad you visited my blog today and liked it. I appreciated your visit. Please drop by anytime.

Oh Sweetie...
I am dizzy from the carousel ride, but what a great time I had. I haven't done that in years. So much fun and I can still hear the music playing over and over, up and down, round and round. What a fun time.

Now that RedBox stop was delightful. I love Carousel. I am going to have to watch it again. It's addicting isn't it? The old ones are the best ones I think.

Hope you have a beautiful Sunday sweet friend. Thank you for taking me along on the carousel. I so enjoyed myself, and I can't wait to see where you take me next week.

Many hugs and much love, Sherry
