This is Me

My photo
I'm a displaced South/Central Texan living in Louisville Kentucky
I am a princess because I am a child of the Risen King! My background is Baptist, but believe I have a relationship not a religion. I married my childhood sweetheart and together we have raised two wonderful children and got them married off. I love everything about being a wife and mother. Now guess what? I am going to be a GRANDMA!! We are so excited for this next step in our lives.

Women and shoes OUCH!

Women will do just about anything for a good pair of Ruby Red shoes. We will suffer through a dinner and maybe get a blister or two just to be sure we look darn good! I have heard that in New York Women will pay for a cab just to go 2 blocks because their feet hurt, but no way are they going to wear ugly shoes. Well, of course not, and certainly not if those shoes don't go with the outfit right ladies?

We can be so vein, but we just want to look good. What does that mean exactly? What looks good to some cultures is very odd to others.  Can you imagine doing this and wearing these shoes?

Just amazing Look how tiny those are!! It took years and she had to train her feet to grow this way. Just take a look at what this entails.

Constant bonding

Look how tight that was if it shows up in a photo like that it was too tight!

I just can't inagine! No really, I'm all for ugly now. I don't think I would want to be pretty in this culture!

Bless her. How does she stand or walk?

EEK!!! Can you imagine??? I've heard about this, but never actually seen a picture.
I have, while shopping in NYC, had to take a cab a few blocks because I just couldn't limp back to the hotel. lol

I have heard of this medieval practice but I had no idea these poor women had to walk with their toes folded under like the lady in the photos. It makes me wince just to think about it.

Ouch. But, I did love reading that Geisha book a while back. As you can guess no heels here in this garden.

It's hard to imagine that women had to go through this kind of pain and then live with it all their lives! Have you read "Snowflower and the Secret Fan" by Lisa See? Great novel which tells more about the women of this time!
Have a great day!

P.S. I've signed on to follow!

You've now given vivid memory to what I read in "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan." Wow. I don't think I'll fully rid of these images.
