This is Me

I'm a displaced South/Central Texan living in Louisville Kentucky
I am a princess because I am a child of the Risen King! My background is Baptist, but believe I have a relationship not a religion. I married my childhood sweetheart and together we have raised two wonderful children and got them married off. I love everything about being a wife and mother. Now guess what? I am going to be a GRANDMA!! We are so excited for this next step in our lives.

God's abundant mercy given NEW every morning.

The word "mercy" not only means to withhold punishment. It also means to show us compassion. And from the words of Martha Stewart that's a good thing.

Psalm 103. "Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all his benefits." Verse 3: "Who forgives all your iniquities." That's God's mercy.

God's mercy withholds from me the penalty that I deserve for my own sin. But on the other hand, God sees me as a person who needs His compassion. "As a father pities his children, So the LORD pities those who fear Him."

He contrasts here mercy with pity. And I think a better word there is compassion.

God doesn't save us because He pities us. God saves us because He loves us

Mercy in the Morning will hopefully reflect God's abundant mercy given NEW every morning.

"Morning by morning, new mercies I see"

 Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Hey there - thanks for the inspiration. I need it today. Truth is - we all need it every day, and I know that. But I especially need it today. Thanks again.
