I am a princess because I am a child of the Risen King! My background is Baptist, but believe I have a relationship not a religion. I married my childhood sweetheart and together we have raised two wonderful children and got them married off. I love everything about being a wife and mother. Now guess what? I am going to be a GRANDMA!! We are so excited for this next step in our lives.

Sweet Weekend from my Spring Porch

Today I am talking around the idea of a Spring Front Porch. So I write this note about my weekend I am seeing myself on a porch something like this.

Oh, yes or one like this, well more porches later...

We had a wonderful weekend with family over to celebrate our son in laws birthday. I cooked dinner. As requested my famous meatloaf, baked mac n cheese, and roasted potatoes. Melissa made his favorite cake, Fun Fetti. I know there are so many amazing cakes and that’s what he wants.

With Spring in the air we under the new weather plan. Tornado season. So we are checking the weather as we go to sit for dinner because our son tells us we are in for quite the night. Sure enough…. Well, it’s been damp and wet all day so we will check the weather later on to see what up by the time everyone is ready to leave, they may want to bunk down in the basement by the reports we are getting on the news.

Then during dinner we heard a HUGE BOOM!!! I thought it was the cat in the basement. I knew she was down there, and there were a stack of boxes, maybe they were knocked over.  We played on the Wii. I bought a new game for us. Ever watch the show “Big Balls”  hehe “Wipe Out”? well that’s the new game. Lots of fun.

As the kids all went home Kevin opened the door to the garage and let out a  Oh!!! The damp weather I was telling ya about, Well the tape to the seam on some of the sheet rock let loose. Nearly half our garage ceiling was all over the garage floor and car!! There was nothing up there nothing putting weight on it! It JUST FELL!

We did make it through the night. It was a bumpy ride. The closest to us was 3 miles away got hit and there are power lines and trees down all around. The schools are starting on 2 hour delay so they can get some clean up done and make sure streets are passable.

Ok, so on with some pretty Spring Porches

How sweet is this little garden porch? Take a book and enjoy some sweet tea out here!!

And finally I think I could watch the kids on bikes and say Hello to all the walkers while petting my kitty all from that pretty white wicker chair.

Happy Monday I hope you all have a wonderful week!

First, I hope you made it through the night with no bad weather impacts. Tornado season is certainly the downside of Spring.
Second, sounds like you'll be cleaning up the garage today. Thank goodness, no one was in there!
Third, getting free gelato through your blog. I'm not sure the promotion is still going on, but you can check out their web site. I'm leaving their button on my sidebar for a few more days. You can contact them through it.
And last, thanks for visiting Buttermilk Cottage. I'm your newest follower!
Best,
Susan

Hi Wanda...just wanted to stop by to let you know about the links I mentioned on my GF Bread Post. The site is where I found my flour mix, but there is alot of information there especially in the comments and FAQs. You have to surf around there, but it is worth the time spent reading. I did see comments from celiacs with problems that you mentioned. I am Intolerant to wheat/gluten and avoid all things with msg and other preservatives. I hope the bread baking works for you...if you are allergic to any of the ingredients, the website I mentioned offers other alternatives. My SIL uses Tapioca instead of corn starch.
Be Well....Sue

Hi Wanda, first of all I am so glad you came by to visit me via blog 'world' while you experienced some turbulent weather. You are a lot of fun...I can see that when it is a cloudy day; you see it as an opportunity to make your own sunshine!!!
Be blessed and I'm so glad that we are following one another.

Wow ... some scary storms ... I hope there's not too much damage to deal with. We used to sit on my grandmother's porch and watch the rainstorms [NOT tornadoes}. I love the blue porch you chose to share today ... perfect for sitting and watching the world go by!

Me again! I wasn't through typing and weird things happened...my computer has a mind of it's own.:0)

Anyhow, I wanted to say we had that line of storms come through here today...lots of hard rain but Knoxville and south of the park really got hit hard. Glad y'all are ok and so sorry for the garage ceiling...just what you needed, right? NOT!

Hugs,
Stephanie ♥

Thank you for your very nice comment on my blog! I love all of these porches, and I think very house should have at least one porch. With all our busy lives, porches provide such peaceful spots for taking a little time to slow down.
